Alaina's Letters

Hello again, my friends

Dearest Friends,

Hello again. How are you? As you can see from my page, I've had gigs every other weekend. That's a wild success in my eyes for a one woman show in only the summer. However, with those gigs, I was not able to give my online presence as much love. I do think it turned to my benefit as my voice is getting better and stronger. I was singing for two-three hours of the weekends in front of you all.

There are many, many people to thank. Even as a one-woman show, I did not do it alone. I'd like to thank all of my fans, family, and friends for coming out every single gig, the places that hired me, my vocal coach for getting me this far, and my fiance, Brandon. I couldn't have done it without you. I am astonished you came to every gig even though you did not have to. I love you! Special thanks to Mom, Dad, Jerrica, and Chloe for being my groupies.

I am very fortunate I got to make new fans, do what I love, and share my voice. I am truly blessed and cannot wait to get back to content and the studio. If you follow me on Tik-Tok you can hear some of my new originals. I am excited for this more low-key chapter of my music (yet to take the world by storm!) Thank you from the bottom of my heart everyone! It was the best summer yet!

Regards,

Alaina Rhodig

Extra! Extra! New Music!!!

Dearest Reader,

How are you doing? Sorry it has been way too long. I had several gigs this summer and working full time was a doozie. After working on my music last night, I am now sitting in a cafe writing this.

To update you all, I actually went to the studio over the weekend. I was thrilled to venture back to the creative process. I even learned they have gift cards for Christmas…(*hint, hint)

A few days before, I went to the studio. Also, I decided to focus on my YouTube platform. There, you will find my videos. If, you haven’t heard already, my mission is to be a good influence in the music industry. I want to combine my faith with music today.

My faith has brought me so much happiness that my next song is about having faith. I cannot say more other than, well, there may be more…

Anyway, I am enjoying this creative season after being done with my tour (or gigs, to be totally transparent). Thank you for following along. I hope to keep inspiring you as much as you inspire me.

Regards,
Alaina DiCarlo

Back to School

Dearest Reader,

I cannot WAIT to share this journey with you these next few months. I have an especially good feeling about August. Shall I say…studio time?!?! I know my producer would be happy.

I am sad I will not be seeing my fans in the hallways at school. For all of you going back to school my advice to you is this:

  1. Be friends with everyone. You never know how you can brighten their day. Also, people like nice people. I wish someone would have seen me in school (I was a wallflower.)
  2. Study. Put the guitar down. Get off the piano and study for an hour or two after school. It's not going to kill you.
  3. Be nice to your teachers. It goes both ways.

If I could talk to my younger self, I would say these things. If you are reading this, your survival rate is 100%. You can make it through! You’ve totally got this.

Alaina DiCarlo

New Job Opportunity

Dearest Reader,

I am starting an accounting job next month. It’s a public company and I think this will be a great change of pace. I am excited to start! I have friends who work there and can't wait to expand my network.

I would love to teach again, but this was too good of an opportunity to pass up. I can’t wait to start this new chapter of my life! I feel confident I can do well.

Thank you to everyone for supporting me. I am feeling more confident, happy, and sure of myself. Thank you also to the company that hired me!

The next song I want to release is called, If Only You Were Here. Stay tuned….

Regards,

Alaina DiCarlo

Whereabouts

Dearest Reader,

Sorry I have been away for a while. I had a last minute gig to practice for. Additionally, I got a summer job and have been adjusting. Last week, I also look a vacation to Nashville to find myself. And had a great girls trip.

Let’s talk Nashville. My girls trip, I would 100% do it again. I think the entire trip I had two drinks. We stayed out late, shopped, ate, sang, and made memories.

I have been to Nashville about four times now. I’ve had enough. Honestly, I like listening to country music, but it doesn’t light a fire in me anymore. I’m pulling a Taylor Swift.

Now that I’m back, I’ll be practicing for my gig in August. You should see some new content soon. In the meantime check out my YouTube. My dream this fall is to get back to the studio. Stay tuned!

Rescheduled Gig Coming Up!

Hello Friends,

I have good news! I have been rescheduled. And the ceiling has been fixed. Come join me on Thursday the 27th of June from 6pm-8pm at Louie's Wine Dive OP for a lively night of music, great food, and even better company.

Remember how I brought down the house, literally with my canceled gig? It all started 20 minutes before showtime…It was the most unexpected thing. We arrived and there was a sign on the door.

It said, “Due to construction, we will be closed today.” I told my boyfriend, “That's odd, my gig is today.” When we arrived, they said they were no longer taking patrons. I mentioned I was supposed to play there.

Then. they kindly showed me the disruption. The ceiling above the bar fell down…WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?  They apologized for the inconvenience. I was just happy no one was hurt. Afterwards, I proceeded to call and text all of my friends and family who were on their way.

I was scrambling. I am glad however, that you can come see me play soon.

See you on the 27th :)

Crying in the Bathroom & Changes

Dearest Reader,

I am making some changes to my content. At the present moment, I am wanting to make the quality of my future videos higher. I have some ideas. It all began during a virtual conference I went to.

They had a seminar about social media and it got me thinking. I want to put my best out there. Lately, it has been about more, more, more. After today, you may be seeing less of me, but behind the scenes, I am planning.

I am especially planning NEW MUSIC!!! Crying in the Bathroom exclusive is going to be acoustically done this Friday! I can't wait for you to hear this honest, empathetic, and seemingly: raw version. I will be implementing my new vision.

See you June 14th :)

Crying in the Bathroom

Dearest Reader,

Crying in the Bathroom is a new song I will be releasing an acoustic next Friday the 14th on YouTube. Unfortunately, I am unable to get to the studio yet, but I have an acoustic version I am dying to share with you. It's about not being attune to societal pressures to drink.

Now, I enjoy a nice glass of wine after a long day, but that's about it. This song is about being uncomfortable with drinking (which I still am). I can't be around excess and I've always been in control.

That is my encouragement to you. Please be YOU. Don't let anyone persuade you not to. You will end up inspiring more people if you don't do what everyone else is doing.

I was uncomfortable performing this song at a gig in April. I thought no one one would like it because it is about an uncommon opinion. Turns out my friends loved it, and I hope you do too.

See you June 14th :)

Alaina DiCarlo

Summer Advice

Dearest Reader,

Something that my boyfriend has been reminding me, is to adjust. I just got out of work with all this free time. My family and friends want to see me often, but I have to work on music.

I was told to not worry about the lost time, especially with the new change in routine. Plus, we just had a holiday. These days off make me even more motivated to exercise my creativity.

I am elated to do more, be more, and create more with my music. Someone told me don't be afraid to say no to distractions. It's easier to say no, then later, say yes if needed. Especially with my gig coming up.

As for now, I will be kind to myself for wanting more music for myself. I also want a new job now that teaching is over, of course. This summer I also encourage you to get a new routine too. Kids are out of school, it's gorgeous here in the Midwest, and now is the best time to get started.

Let's go out there and give it our all!

Regards,
Alaina DiCarlo

A thank you to my students.

Dearest Reader,

The ultimate blessing this past year has been my job as a teacher. As the school year is coming to a close, I am reflecting on what my students taught me. It has been a beautiful journey watching their young minds grow. Their admiration gave light to my purpose in life. That is, to be a good influence.

I LOVED being around the kids! They said the darnest things, were always down for a laugh, and paid attention (more times than not, mostly, if I kept them busy.) My favorite thing about them was their love for my music. That meant the world to me.

They probably hated the classical music I would supplement. Some of my fondest memories were hearing them asking me to play my songs and how much they appreciated them. They taught me to have confidence in myself, trust in the gifts God has given me, and of course, pray in the adoration chapel on Fridays.

Although I won't be teaching next year (still trying to figure out my next adventure), I learned one more lesson. When I am called to be a mother, that will bring me more joy than anything. So, to the students who brought joy into my life, I will always be praying for you. I love you all more than you know and am so sad to leave (tears up writing this). If you need anything please reach out. I am always in your corner and want to see you make good choices. One last thing, if Alaina DiCarlo can do it, so can you.

Love,

Alaina DiCarlo
